Callen puts the “G.” in “OMG” when NCIS: Los Angeles opens Season 7, as seen in these exclusive photos from the CBS drama’s Monday, Sept. 21 premiere.
Picking up three months after the finale, in which Hetty (played by Linda Hunt) informed/fibbed to Callen (Chris O’Donnell) that his father was dead, “We discover that Callen has been doing his own investigation into something,” showrunner Shane Brennan tells TVLine. And as a result of his rogue op, “He finds himself in a very difficult situation with Hetty and Sam (LL Cool J), because he’s not telling them what he’s got himself caught up in.”
Brennan says that although Callen’s agenda is ultimately revealed in the premiere (titled “Active Measures),” “It’s not resolved.” Rather, “In the tradition of this show, we plant the seeds of something to come, and it has a fairly major impact halfway through the season, in a double-episode.”

NCIS: Los Angeles Season 6 will be released on DVD August 18th. Julie Chen is trying on her acting shoes.
The Talk co-host guest-stars on Monday’s episode of NCIS: Los Angeles as Nancy Kelly, a U.S. Ambassador to Tunisia who narrowly escapes an assassination attempt. Sam (LL Cool J) and Callen (Chris O’Donnell) are brought in to get to the bottom of the terrorism plot, and the episode contains “the shootout of all shootouts” as a result. Check out a sneak peek below.
This is the first time Chen is portraying a fictional character instead of appearing as herself (as she’s done on Madam Secretary and The Millers). Earlier this week, the Big Brother host – who says she rehearsed her lines “15 to 20 times” with her husband, CBS president Les Moonves – tweeted a behind-the-scenes picture of herself on the NCIS: LA set.
“This has been very intimidating to me,” Chen says in the sneak peek, exclusive to TVGuide.com. “I’m not a trained actor. I don’t remember feeling this scared since I first started my career and I had to give my first live report. … It’s a new venture for me.”
NCIS: LA airs Mondays at 10/9c on CBS. Check out a sneak peek of Monday’s episode below.

With the holidays upon us, big things are bound to happen on all your favorite TV shows. A new teaser for NCIS: Los Angeles‘ Christmas episode, which will air Dec. 15, reveals that it is no exception.
The teaser, though brief, shows Callen in love, guys dressed as Santa Claus, and something very promising for “Densi” fans. (Was that a kiss that almost just happened? Looks like it!)
The show’s creator and executive producer, Shane Brennan, elaborated in an email on what’s to come next week: “There’s something under the Christmas tree for everyone in next week’s episode. A truly heart touching surprise for Sam that centers on his family, a moment of truth for Callen and, for the Densi fans, the mistletoe moment that you’ve been waiting for all season… Definitely our biggest and jolliest Christmas episode of the series!”
The teaser will air tonight, but you can get a first look here.
Catch a new episode of NCIS: Los Angeles tonight on CBS at 10/9 c, and the Christmas episode next Monday, Dec. 15, same time, same place.

As CBS’ NCIS: Los Angeles uncorks Season 6 — premiering Sept. 29, in its shiny, new Mondays-at-10/9c time slot — it appears that Hetty’s trip to Washington, D.C. may be (gulp) a one-way trip.
As showrunner Shane Brennan shared during our Fall Preview Q&A, “The story takes Hetty to Washington, where she faces some very hostile questioning from a Senate committee trying to get to the truth of what happened in Afghanistan and whether Hetty was acting outside her job description, so to speak. And then we discover there’s more to this, that in fact Hetty is being targeted by someone. And that actually puts her life in danger.”
Indeed, based on the exclusive promo above, it looks like that ominous “someone” has hit their target’s bull’s-eye — and as you well know, that the team back in L.A. won’t stand for their Hetty being hurt!
