CBS has set an April premiere date for Come Dance With Me, the new family dance competition series from NCIS: Los Angeles stars Chris O’Donnell and LL Cool J. The series will debut Friday, April 15 at 8 PM, succeeding Undercover Boss in the timeslot. It also will be available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+.
Created and executive produced by O’Donnell and LL Cool J, Come Dance With Me features exceptionally talented young dancers from across the country who invite one untrained family member who has supported their dance dreams to be their partner, for a chance to strut their stuff for a grand prize. Each week, the kids will share their love of dance with their mother, father, grandparent or other hero on an uplifting and emotional journey to learn and perform challenging routines, with the assistance of professional choreographers, in a competition with other duos.
Grammy-winning songwriter Philip Lawrence hosts the series, which features music from popular artists across all genres. Judges include dancer and actress Jenna Dewan, pro celebrity dancer Dexter Mayfield and hip hop choreographer Tricia Miranda.
Come Dance With Me is produced by CBS Studios and 3 Ball Productions, part of 3BMG. In addition to LL Cool J and O’Donnell, executive producers for 3 Ball are Reinout Oerlemans, Ross Weintraub and Jeff Altrock. Jeff Thacker, Nick Florez and RJ Durell also are executive producers.

Would CBS’ NCIS and NCIS: Los Angeles be monster successes if such charismatic actors as Mark Harmon, Pauley Perrette, LL Cool J and Chris O’Donnell hadn’t been cast in the leading roles? Probably not. Now Shane Brennan, exec producer of the franchise, is hoping to spin off yet another series. This one, scheduled to test-launch as a special episode of NCIS: L.A. this spring, centers on a mobile organization called Red Team. Here are the major roles currently being cast, along with some recommendations of actors who might be looking for work.
Special Agent Paris S. Age: Early 40s Qualities: Alluring, athletic and flirtatious, with a high I.Q. and a sharp tongue Past: She has two ex-husbands, no kids and a Ph.D. in chemistry. Hobbies include golf and pistol shooting (she competed in the Olympics). Prefers to work solo. Dream casting: Sarah Wayne Callies (The Walking Dead’s Lori Grimes) Special Agent Roy Q. Age: Mid 40s Qualities: Ruggedly handsome, wise and somewhat damaged Past: He was forced to retire from active service and is now employed as Red Team’s operations manager. Has a past with Paris, but hasn’t seen her in seven years. Dream casting: Adrian Pasdar (Heroes’ Nathan Petrelli) Special Agent Danny G. Age: Early 30s Qualities: Messy, bad driver with a droll sense of humor Past: This single forensic specialist trained by the NYPD loves gadgets, baseball and snorkeling. Dream casting: Derek Phillips (Friday Night Lights’ Billy Riggins)
Special Agent Clara H. Age: Early 30s Qualities: Worldly, athletic and charming; skilled driver with a passion for photography Past: She earned a master’s in international politics and a law degree from Harvard. Her dad was a war correspondent, and she’s fluent in several languages. Dream casting: Erica Durance (Smallville’s Lois Lane)
Technical Assistant Kai A. Age: Early 20s Qualities: Bright, witty, likable and tech-savvy Past: Known as “Mr. Fix-It,” he’s a computer engineer with a degree from MIT who was raised by his grandmother in South Central Los Angeles. Dream casting: Malcolm David Kelley (Lost’s Walt)
Onetime NCIS boss/current NCIS: Los Angeles Shane Brennan is developing a spin-off of the hit procedural’s original spin-off, our sister site Deadline reports.
The as-yet-untitled offshoot will first be glimpsed as a two-part episode of NCIS: LA airing later this season — making it a “planted pilot,” as NCIS: LA itself was — and follow a mobile team of agents who live and work together as they cross the country solving crimes. (If it doesn’t wind up called NCIS: Mobile or NCIS: Criminal Minds, I’ll eat my hat.)
NCIS proper of course is TV’s most watched drama series, while NCIS: LA, Deadline notes, commands one of the highest syndication licensing fees for a drama series.
